Respite Care Services Kildare
At Parke House Nursing Home, we offer a range of Respite Care service options. Our services can be tailored to suit the individual needs of people whose care needs do not require residential admission or long stays in a nursing home.
Our care services can help individuals remain living in their home communities for as long as possible and provide support for families and other caregivers as required. This can be on an ad hoc or more regular basis, depending on what suits the individual and their family and carers. These services are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, subject to availability.
Family carers find that availing of our temporary care option enables them to look after their own needs with the assurance that their loved ones are well cared for in our programme. For example, where a caring spouse has to be admitted to the hospital themselves, where family members are going on holidays or simply where carers themselves need a break, periodically or otherwise.
Benefits of Respite Care
Individuals availing of our services can benefit from the change of surroundings. Clients have the benefit of access to all of our facilities. In addition to the same comfortable high-quality bedroom and bathroom facilities as our long-term residents, clients also have access to our activities programme, hairdressing and beauty facilities, café, internet café (free Wi-Fi), religious services, nutrition advice, ophthalmic, dental, speech and language therapy, laundry and housekeeping services.
They are also are provided with nursing care and medical services in conjunction with a GP. Some clients enjoy the opportunity to have greater social interactions and enjoy the companionship of the Home environment and activities programme. Other clients prefer to rest and relax in the quiet rooms in the Home or their own bedrooms.
How To Avail of Respite Care
Prior to coming for care, our team will carry out an assessment of needs in order to agree on a care plan. We will require documentation and information in relation to medical history, current health status and all medications.
Respite Care clients who are in receipt of a care package in their community will need to arrange for such care to be in place on their date of discharge from the Home to ensure the appropriate continuity of care following a stay in our nursing home. Our clinical staff can liaise with the community care team and family to provide a discharge summary.
Short-term stays are available in conjunction with the HSE or on a private basis. We are also approved by a number of private healthcare providers in certain circumstances.
Should you wish to discuss respite care options with us we would be delighted to help. Please call the Bed Manager for further information.
